What is Multi-Cocoon?
Multi-Cocoon will allow you to set up and monitor more than one Cocoon in your household. This feature has been developed after many of you provided feedback to tell us that you wanted to have more video coverage of your home.
You will not be able to set up multiple Cocoon households just yet as all additional Cocoons should be used in the same location. The Multi-Household feature will be coming in 2018 and will allow you to monitor multiple Cocoons in different households.
Setting up Multi-Cocoon
The setup of multiple Cocoons in your household may be vary depending on whether you already have a Cocoon online in your household or if you're a new customer. Please read about setting up Multi-Cocoon in your household here.
Multi-Cocoon Features
All current features will still be available in a Multi-Cocoon household. The Cocoons will work as a collective, meaning that Arming/Disarming will affect all Cocoons in the household, sounding the siren will sound the siren on all Cocoons, for example.
Receiving Alerts
This also means that if one Cocoon is alerting, all Cocoons in the Household are alerting, and you should receive a single notification per detected activity. However, if two or more Cocoons alert at the same time you will see two notifications.
Watching Alerts/Watch Live
While watching alerts (live or historic), you can swipe left or right on the video during streaming/playback to access video from each of your Cocoons. The Cocoon that alerts is the feed that will load first.
The same goes for when you go to watch the live stream, and you also have the option to select which Cocoon you want to view from before tapping the “Watch Live” button on the home screen.
Downloading Multi Video - Beta
Your video download tokens will remain at 3 per 30 day period. Right now you'll only be able to download the primary video stream from the first Cocoon in your household, but we're working on this at the moment whereby if you download video in a Multi-Cocoon environment, you get the video from all the Cocoons in your household, whilst still only using up 1 download token. You can expect this in the next round of Cocoon app updates.
Removing a Cocoon from the Household
If you would like to remove individual Cocoons from the household, you can simply unplug them and they will show as offline in your Household section. To remove this completely you currently have to factory reset all paired Cocoons. We're working on making this a bit easier so watch this space.
