Cocoon uses your smartphone to tell if you're at home or not by using Location Services.
In order for Cocoon to function as designed, we recommend enabling location services for your Cocoon app at all times. The reason for this is so that Cocoon knows when you are home or away and can correctly learn from the Subsound generated in your home in these two different states.
If you chose not to use location services, you can still manually arm and disarm within the app, but you run the risk of forgetting to set your Cocoon leaving your home unprotected, or teaching Cocoon the wrong Subsound if you forget to switch off when you get home. Because of this, we've set notifications in the app to remind you to keep your Location Services on at all times.
Location services use Mobile signal, Wifi signals, and GPS to maximise the accuracy, so it's important to ensure that your Wifi and Mobile data are also on.
Mobile data is required for your Smartphone to send a location update when you come and go from home, and for receiving alert notifications when you're out and about.
Wifi signal is an important factor in location services, so if you regularly turn your Wifi off when away from home, you may experience location delays with your Cocoon.
