Apple rolled out their latest operating software update for iPhone on the 17th September 2018, and there are a few changes to notifications that you'll see once you've updated. These changes could impact how you see your Cocoon notifications coming through, so it's worth checking to make sure you have the right settings for you.
All of your Cocoon alert notifications will now be grouped together, reducing the clutter in your notification centre. The total number of alerts will be counted up for you too, which can help with troubleshooting!
You'll be able to tailor your notifications from within the notification centre using Manage. This will give you the option to:
- Deliver Prominently (recommended) - as you'll get these on the Lock screen, with sounds, banners and badges.
- Deliver Quietly - these appear in the notification centre, but not on Lock screen, and you won't get sounds, vibrations, banners or badges.
- Turn Off... - no more notifications from Cocoon.
These options are great for giving you the flexibility to customise your alert notifications on the go whilst Cocoon is watching over your home, but do remember to change them back when you need them.
Do Not Disturb - Bedtime
An extra level of Do Not Disturb has been added to keep your screen time to a minimum when you go to bed. This will dim the Lock screen, and any calls or notifications will be silenced until you unlock your iPhone in the morning and open your notification centre.
For Cocoon users who manually arm their Cocoons at night when at home, or are away, you may want to consider disabling this feature if you'd prefer to get the notifications coming through.
Using the Prominent or Quietly management feature you get more control of your Cocoon notifications, giving you the flexibility to focus on the ones you need to know about immediately (such as your Cocoon!) and the freedom to reduce the distraction caused by the ones you don't.
